Ox gets loose in city in China

Is an ox faster than a bus? It appears so after a runway ox left pedestrians and motorists dazed in south-west China, with the animal outrunning motor vehicles as it raced down the road.

The animal reportedly ditched its owner and took its cart for a high-speed city tour.

The poor owner, an elderly villager surnamed Qi, was thrown from the cart when the ox was startled.

Surveillance footage captured the strange moment, with the ox roaring down the busy road.

Police were soon alerted.

It was reported the animal was upset by the sound of a car horn.

After running for nearly 2km, the ox was finally stopped by residents and the police and reunited with its owner.

No one was hurt in the incident however it has been reported the owner of the ox does need to replace the cart’s wheels.
