Quick-thinking teen saves drowning toddler's life

A teenager's high school CPR training has saved the life of a drowning three-year-old girl at an apartment complex swimming pool.

Keyuna Jordan and her nine-year-old cousin were swimming unaccompanied in the Florida apartment complex's fenced pool when things took a turn for the worse.

When Keyuna went under for almost two minutes and stopped breathing, her cousin dragged her to the side of the pool and started "freaking out".

Luckily, Breanna Mosely, 18, arrived at the pool and surveillance footage shows her quick-thinking response.

"Honestly, I just wanted to cry. I wanted to break down. I was like, a little girl just died in front of me," Ms Moseley told WMTV.

"I walked over as quick as I could and saw she wasn’t breathing."

Without missing a beat, Ms Moseley put the CPR training she had learnt three years prior to the test.

"I did mouth-to-mouth for a minute, did some light chest compressions. I didn’t want to hurt her."

With Ms Moseley's assistance, Keyuna started breathing unassisted again.

Keyuna's aunt had sent the toddler and her cousins to the pool while she cleaned the apartment, according to police.

She was allegedly on her way to the pool when she heard the commotion.

The toddler was air-lifted to a children's hospital in Orlando as a precaution.
