The chairman of the separatist Donetsk People’s Republic has resigned while visiting Moscow amidst building tension after MH17 was shot down over the disputed Ukrainian region.

Denis Pushilin was head of a pro-Russian group that declared independence in the eastern Ukraine region of Donetsk in April.
