Prince William and Duchess Catherines wedding cake slice sells for $7500

A three-year-old slice of wedding cake from Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding has sold for a whopping $7500 (£4000) at auction, the Telegraph reports.
The slightly-stale piece of fruit cake from 2011 was only expected to rake in between $1000-$2000.
The slice was wrapped in a red tin with a blank wedding invitation on the Queen's stationary.
The original eight-tier cake was made by British baker Fiona Cairns and her team and took a stagging five weeks to craft.
The sale of this slice came in higher than the one sold from Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding, with the 27-year-old slice fetching $7000
