A plane carrying the Minnesota Vikings NFL team has slid off the taxiway after landing at Appleton International Airport in Wisconsin, leaving the players stuck on the aircraft.
The Airbus A330 was taxiing towards the arrivals gate on Friday night (local time) when a rear wheel slid off the tarmac, USA Today reports.
Abe Weber, Director of Appleton International Airport said it was unknown what caused the plane to veer off course.
The Minnesota Vikings official Twitter account confirmed the team was on the plane, saying they were “waiting patiently to exit”.
“While taxiing after a safe landing, the team plane slid off the runway and became stuck,” the tweet read.
Players and other passengers were stranded on the plane for more than three hours until they were escorted off the aircraft.
No one was injured in the incident.
