Petrol station explosion caught on camera

An explosion at a petrol station in Ukraine has catapulted people through the air, including one man who incredibly survived being flung over a car with a dashcam filming only a few metres from the destructive scene.

Footage from the camera uploaded online overnight shows the vehicle pulling up at the service station in Kiev about 8.45am.

Seconds later there is an enormous blast behind the parked car and debris is sent flying over the vehicle.

One man is seen to be knocked into a post while another comes hurtling across the front of the car before falling onto the road.

The shocked men slowly stand up, incredibly appearing unharmed by the thunderous explosion on April 22 that killed at least five people and caused five more to be hospitalised.

Others are feared to have been buried by the debris of the Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky gas station, Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reports.

An emergency services spokesman said an investigation was underway into the cause of the accident.
