Passengers evacuate smoke-filled plane

Passengers in Canada have been forced to evacuate a plane after it landed when smoke filled the cabin.

Dramatic footage captured by Robin Thacker, who was sitting in row 17 near the back of the Westjet Bombardier Q400 twin turboprop, shows passengers being told to “evacuate, evacuate, evacuate”.

The plane, which had flown from Vancouver in Canada to the city of Nanaimo, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, landed normally before the smoke spread through the cabin.

"By the time we landed you almost couldn't see the front row, that's how thick the smoke was. No masks dropped down and they just told us to breathe through our clothes,” Thacker told CBC NewsCBC News

Nobody was injured and safety bosses are investigating.
