The wanted partner of Paris supermarket gunman Amedy Coulibaly has shown up on CCTV arriving at an airport in Istanbul, Turkey.

The newly-released footage shows Hayat Boumeddiene, 26, passing through passport control accompanied by a man at Sabiha Gokcen Airport on January 2.

She is seen wearing a headdress and Turkish officials have identified the person she was with as Mehdi Sabri Belhouchine, a man of North African origin who was not on a watch list, BBC News reports.

Turkish officials said Boumeddiene stayed at a hotel in the Kadikoy district before crossing into Syria with the man on January 8.

Airport officers reportedly did not refuse Boumeddiene entry because French authorities had made no such request and had not issued any warning that she was dangerous.

The airport footage confirms Boumeddiene, who was married Coulibaly in an Islamic ceremony not recognised by French law, was already outside France when last week's killing spree began.

Earlier reports said she was directly involved in the supermarket siege and the fatal shooting of a cadet policewoman in Paris.

French police still regard Boumeddiene as a suspect, however, and say she exchanged more than 500 phone calls with the wife of Charlie Hebdo gunman Cherif Kouachi last year.
