Panda rescued after being trapped on bridge above Chinese dam

A panda has been rescued from a metal bridge above a dam, after she became trapped on the structure in China’s south-west.

Rescuers tried to coax the female panda off the bridge on Tuesday but she would not budge, Chinese media reports.

She was safely pulled from the bridge after rescuers were left with no choice but to tranquilise her.

The four-year-old safely regained consciousness and was returned into the nearby woods.
