A US teen beaten unconscious after a father walked in on him raping his 11-year-old son has been sentenced to 25 years in jail.

Raymond Frolander, 18, from Daytona Beach, Florida, was left with clear facial injuries after Jason Browning found Frolander abusing his son in July last year.

Mr Browning called police after beating Frolander unconscious.

"I just walked in and found a grown man molesting (my child) and I got him in a bloody puddle for you right now," Mr Browning told 911.

"Send an ambulance. He is going to need one."

When asked by the 911 operator if any weapons were involved, Mr Browning said "my foot and my fist."

Mr Browning told 911 Frolander was a neighbour and "almost like a family member", and said he had allowed him to be alone with his son before.

His son later revealed he had been repeatedly raped by Frolander since he was eight.

Mr Browning has not been charged with any crime.

Daytona Beach police chief Mike Chitwood said he had no problem with what Mr Browning did.

"Dad was acting like a dad. I don't see anything we should charge the dad with," Mr Chitwood said.

"You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times."

Frolander pleaded guilty to charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child on Thursday.

By accepting a plea deal, Frolander avoided a life sentence but will be electronically monitored and ordered to register as a sex offender after he gets out of prison.

"He's going to learn in the next 25 years why I let him live," Mr Browning said after Frolander was sentenced.
