Obama makes mocking comeback to Trump in 'Mean Tweets' segment

President Barack Obama has used a "Mean Tweets" segment of Jimmy Kimmel Live to drop the mic on Donald Trump.

In yesterday's edition of the popular segment, the sitting president read through a list of mean tweets directed at him.

"I bet Obama likes mustard on his hotdogs because he's gross," President Obama read.

"Barack Obama dances like how his jeans look."

The president took most of the jabs on the chin, but couldn't help but fire back at a tweet sent by Mr Trump himself.

"President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States," President Obama said, quoting Mr Trump.

"Hey, @realDonaldTrump, at least I will go down as a president."

And with that, President Obama dropped the phone he was reading from, mimicking a mic drop.

Three weeks from the election, the comeback may sting the Republican nominee.

Mr Trump is currently substantially trailing Hillary Clinton in most polls, with political analysis site FiveThirtyEight giving him just a 14.6 percent chance of victory.
