Nessy, is that you? Man claims to have captured Loch Ness monster on video

New video has emerged showing what one man claims to be the Loch Ness monster poking its head out of its watery Scottish home.

Richard Collis, 58, was driving home from his Drumnadrochit tree planting company last week when he spotted something strange in the loch.

"I was traveling along the side of Loch Ness, saw something out of the corner of my eye, pulled over and went down to the loch and took some photographs," Mr Collis told the Mirror.

Mr Collis' shaky vision shows a mysterious shape sticking out of the water and bobbing along with the tide. The image closely resembles the iconic photograph taken of 'Nessy' by hoaxer Christian Spuring in 1993.

"It's similar to the Surgeon's photo, that's what I thought was weird," Mr Collis said, referring to a 1934 photo of the monster snapped by Dr Robert Wilson.

"To me it looks like a long neck and a small head. Like a serpent - the old highland name of it was sea serpent or water horse."

Mr Collis said when he first told his wife about the vision she thought he was "having a laugh" but after watching it thought it was "strange".

"I couldn't believe it and laughed when he showed me because I knew he could never set that up," Mrs Collis, Vibeke, 60, said.

"I couldn't believe it because when you live here everyone wants a shot, even if it's a log, but the thing is it does not look like a log.

"It's definitely not a seal because it's got a really long neck and it’s too round and smooth to be a log and why would it bob the way it does and then just go away."

Mr Collis said he has always been a skeptic about the monster's existence but now, after the film, isn't so sure.
