A new McDonald's in Missouri will soon offer customers all-you-can-eat French fries.

The ambitious owner of the yet-to-open store, Chris Habiger, told News Press Now that unlimited fries would be one of many new features of his modern restaurant.

Customers will also be able to personalise their burgers or sandwich orders using self-serve kiosks, which is already an option at some Australian McDonald's restaurants.

Wait staff will deliver meals to people at their tables, and desserts will also be able to be customised.

As well as a traditional play area, the restaurant, dubbed the 'McDonald's of the Future', will also feature tabletop video games and light board tables.

The franchise is due to open in July, but it has already been criticised for its potential to contribute to the problem of obesity.

"Please don't do this. America is fat enough," @SykesCC tweeted.

"Nothing good can come from that situation," @bgolbourne tweeted.

Other Twitter users welcomed the news.

In Australia, McDonald's Fries are cooked in canola oil with salt added, with a medium serving containing 1540kJ of energy, 19.8g of fat, and 354mg of sodium.
