New Charlie Hebdo cover celebrates French culture in the wake of Paris attacks

French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has released the cover of its upcoming issue in the wake of Friday’s Paris attacks, insisting terrorism will not change the French way of life.

The series of terrorist attacks launched across the French capital on Friday killed at least 129 people.

The new magazine cover features a cartoon of a man joyously drinking champagne, which is flowing from his mouth and through bullet holes strewn over his body.

“They have weapons,” the cartoon reads in French.

“F-ck them, we have champagne!”

The cartoon proudly celebrates French culture and promises no foreign threats will impede on the country’s way of life.

Charlie Hebdo is well-known for its controversial, politically fuelled comics.

It publishes a weekly issue and releases its front cover cartoons ahead of each week’s publication.

Corinne Boer, the Charlie Hebdo cartoonist who illustrated the Paris attacks tribute cover, took to Twitter today to thank readers for their support.

“Thank you all for your messages,” she wrote.

“We put a lot of ourselves into this issue. We are leaving nothing out. #f-ckthem See you tomorrow in #CharlieHebdo.”

The French publication was the victim of a terror attack earlier this year when two gunmen stormed its headquarters in central Paris in January and opened fire, killing 12 people.
