Nervous alligator urinates on US morning television

A host on US morning television was given a spray of a different kind after an alligator urinated in the studio during a segment.

The messy mishap occurred on Fox and Friends, Fox News' weekly morning program, on Tuesday, as handlers from cable channel Animal Planet were on to promote the network's upcoming 'Monster Week'.

While being carefully cradled, the nervous gator lets fly, just as the handler moves to point out its sharp teeth.

"He's just having a little bit of a bathroom break," the gator expert says, the urine stream clearly audible.

Fox and Friends host Steve Doocy then attempts to keep the show afloat.

"You can't really see this, but I don't think that's Gatorade," Doocy says, getting a half-hearted and slightly awkward response from co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Brian Kilmeade.
