The daughter of one of the Milwaukee Bucks' owners has become an overnight sensation after appearing on the telecast of the NBA draft lottery, where teams find out what choice they'll get of incoming players for next season.

Eighteen-year-old high-school student Mallory Edens, the daughter of hedge fund boss and Bucks investor Wesley Edens, caused an internet sensation, captivating viewers with her photogenic appearance.

Overnight, her Twitter following jumped from a few hundred to more than 40,000.

Edens herself wasn't sure she was going to appear, with the notion having been blithely raised by her father.

"My dad sort of asked me in passing one day and I thought he was joking," she told Bucks.com TV. "But here I am, so apparently it was not a joke."

The team she was representing received the number two draft pick, receiving second choice of NBA hopefuls after the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Edens wasn't the only owner's daughter to be representing a team at the draft lottery. Singer Anjali Ranadive, daughter of Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive also sat on the panel. The R&B singer has just released a new single called We Turn Up.
