A Canadian mother worried her car would be towed while she was stuck in hospital with her newborn had her fellow mums come to her rescue after sending out an SOS on Facebook.

Kaylee Goemans, 27, was at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario, while her infant son Dominic underwent a procedure to fix an intestinal knot.

However, she was unable to afford the hospital carpark fee and put all her change in a parking metre some distance away.

Unable to leave the hospital as the time ticked away, she posted a plea for help on a local mother's Facebook group.

"Not sell related. I'm at RVH with my newborn and we now need to do more ultrasound and xrays," she wrote.

"I put all my change in the street metre but its going to run out at 3:30.

"Will I get towed or just a ticket?

"I can't leave my newborn to run out, and we didn't expect to be this long".

CBS News reported the women in the group leaped to her aid, helping the Ms Goemans pay for her parking.
