Mum's snap decision saves baby from deadly collision

A Californian mum's ninja-like reflexes saved her baby's life when a runaway car mounted the footpath and nearly ploughed into them.

Harrowing security footage shows the oblivious mother pushing the pram near a staircase beside a San Francisco street last Friday when an out-of-control SUV approaches.

As the car mounts the curb, the quick-thinking mum yanks the pram out of harm's way with only an instant to spare as the car slams into the handrail.

The mother and her baby were reportedly unharmed in the accident while two men inside the car were taken to hospital.
