Mum filmed kicking daughter in head

A Japanese mother has been caught on camera delivering a swift kick to her young daughter's head to stop her from throwing a tantrum.

The shocking video, filmed by an onlooker at Tokyo's busy Shibuya train station, shows the unidentified woman attempting to get her crying child to walk with her.

As the toddler trails behind her mother, the woman turns and kicks her in the head, causing the child to fall to the ground.

Several onlookers approach the pair, but the mother quickly picks up her daughter and hurries through the ticket gates.

The incident occurred on March 1 at around 11pm.

According to a commenter on the video's Reddit post, the man who shot the footage is heard calling out in Japanese that he has filmed the incident and will be taking it to the police.
