Muhammad Ali back in intensive care

Muhammad Ali is back in intensive care just over a week after he was discharged from a long stay in hospital.

Emergency services were called early Thursday morning (Arizona time), when the 72-year-old - who turns 73 tomorrow - failed to wake up after going to bed two nights before.

"He wasn't responding," a guest, who was staying at the boxing champion's house in Scottsdale, told Radar Online.

"He was sleeping for 24 hours."

He is currently undergoing tests and has his family by his side.

Ali, whose health has been touch-and-go for years, was admitted to hospital just before Christmas and diagnosed with pneumonia and a urinary tract infection.

He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1984 when he was 42, a condition many attributed to his years as a boxer; last year, however, his doctor stated that there was no evidence that this is the case.
