Moment car rams cyclist in terrifying road rage attack

A man in the UK has pleaded guilty after he violently ran down a cyclist during an road rage attack.

The terrifying moment was caught on camera by another car’s dashcam.

In the video, captured around midday on May 16 last year, a car is seen deliberately veering off the road into the bike lane and crashing into a cyclist without slowing down.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, crumbles under the weight of the car.

He attempts to stand back up before collapsing to the ground. He was taken to hospital, but not seriously injured.

It’s understood the driver, 30-year-old Ashley Merrett, was retaliating to the cyclist making a rude gesture at him in response to Merrett breaking heavily in front of him.

Merrett appeared in court over the attack on Tuesday, and pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, actual bodily harm and common assault.

He will be sentenced in February.
