‘Modest’ tornado causes massive destruction near Boston

A ‘relatively modest’ tornado has wreaked havoc in northeast USA, carving a path of destruction through the US city of Revere near Boston.
Around 65 homes and businesses were damaged by the storm after it touched down just after 9.30am local time (11.30pm AEST).

The storm carried wind gusts of up to 190km, and was classified as an EF-2 on the Enhanced Fujita weather scale.
Tornados are not commonplace in the north-eastern US, with last night’s four-minute storm causing issues for emergency responders.
