Miniature horses lead US police on short chase

Police officers in Indianapolis have nabbed an unusual pair of escapees, after  two miniature ponies trotted out of their stables and led them on a low-speed pursuit.

Some motorists filmed the ponies as they made their escape along Binford Boulevard on Saturday morning, with the animals closely followed by police cars with flashing lights.

Fox59 reported the horses may have escaped from stables close to the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

“They just looked like they were out for a little morning run,” witness Andy Jones told the Indianapolis Star.

They were eventually taken to safety by Animal Care and Control authorities, the Indianopolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
