Pregnant woman jumps from burning building

A heavily pregnant woman in Turkey has been filmed jumping from the first floor of a burning building to save her unborn child.

The distressing footage shows the young woman perched on the building's roof as thick smoke pours from the windows and forces her closer to the edge.

Onlookers below scramble to hold out a sheet and pieces of cardboard just in time to soften her fall, as she plunges into the crowd with a protective hand over her stomach.

According to the person who shared the footage online, the woman is now recovering in hospital and is said to be in a good condition.
