Australian Islamic State recruiters listed as proscribed terrorists

Two notorious Australians who became Islamic State recruiters are now listed as proscribed terrorists.
Khaled Sharrouf and Mohamed Elomar have been promoting ISIL online, including posing for photographs while holding up severed heads, since leaving Sydney for Syria late last year.
It is the first time the Australian Government has moved against an individual under a United Nations Security Council resolution designed to prevent acts of terror, News Corp reports.
Australia previously has listed only terrorist organisations instead of individuals.
Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop confirmed the move overnight at the UN Security Council in New York, where she said Australia has no more pressing matter to Australian security than preventing terrorism.
The government has already frozen any assets belonging to Sharrouf and Elomar.
Ms Bishop said anyone who offered a financial lifeline to the pair faced heavy fines and jail terms of up to 10 years.
