'You know what to do': Anchor stops live cross as quake rocks Mexico

A news reader in Mexico has shown immense composure at the beginning of yesterday's devastating earthquake, breaking away from a live cross to inform viewers "this isn't part of a drill".

Just as the 7.1-magnitude quake begins to rumble through Mexico City, Foro TV anchor Enrique Campos calmly interrupts an on-field reporter to acknowledge that earthquake sirens were sounding.

"The ground is moving," Campos said. "You all know what to do in this moment. Keep calm and evacuate immediately."

Just as the studio begins to shake violently, Campos looks up and declares "I am going to get up and evacuate".

Cameras then cuts to shots of the city being rocked by the earthquake and the studio lights clanging from the ceiling.

Although he was forced out of the studio Campos continued to work from the streets, helping share information with the millions of Mexicans impacted by the earthquake.
