An Ohio martial arts academy has released a how-to video showing viewers how to defend themselves against “over dominating” handshakes.

The Brazilian Jiujitsu Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Columbus posted the tongue-in-cheek video to YouTube yesterday.

“We've all seen the weirdness of the Trump handshake. Here's how to defend it!” the caption reads.

The video, which features one instructor demonstrating how to intercept the undesirable handshake with a wrist lock, has since been viewed thousands of times.

“So, Secret Service – I promise if I meet the president, I probably won’t wrist lock him... probably,” the instructor jokes.

The video was inspired by US President Donald Trump’s somewhat forceful handshake, which recently became the subject of social media attention.

Last week, television cameras captured an awkward exchange with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, during which Mr Abe was seen trying to stabilize himself against Mr Trump’s grasp.
