Man who 'owned Paris apartment' says he let terrorists into his home as a favour

The young man who 'owned' the Paris apartment where French commandos fired 5000 rounds and killed two terrorists in a dramatic pre-dawn raid claims he had no idea who was holed up in his home.

A video interview by Israeli newspaper Haaretz shows a man, who makes a series of claims suggesting he is the owner of the apartment, being questioned by a French police officer on a dark street.

"I didn't know they were terrorists," says the unidentified man, speaking in French. "Someone asked me a favour I did them a favour".

The man, who appears to be in his early twenties, is dressed in a black sleeveless jacket, black hoodie and wears black glasses.

"I don't know where they came from, I don't know anything," he shrugs.

Paris prosecutor Francois Molins has today confirmed one man, who was believed to have let the militants use the apartment, was arrested during the raid. It is unclear if the man in the video was the suspect detained.

Molins said neither Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected 'mastermind' of the Paris attacks, nor Saleh Abdelsalam, a wanted fugitive, are among the eight arrested people.

Police found "a total war arsenal" of Kalashnikovs, ammunition and explosives inside the St Denis flat.
