Man attacks children with meat cleaver

A man has attacked children with a meat cleaver at a primary school in China, leaving eight children injured.

Shocking video footage of the attack, at a school in Hubei province, shows the attacker chasing students around the schoolyard with a large blade.

The government of Macheng city said 35-year-old Chen Zuihang was arrested at the scene, the South China Morning Post reports.

Police said the motive behind the attack is still unclear.

The injured students were taken to Machen City People's Hospital for treatment, with two requiring surgery.

The children are all aged between six and eight years old.

The incident is being investigated by local officials, while the school has declined to comment.
