Machete-wielding man hit by cars three times

A machete-wielding man was run over at least three times in a shocking video that has emerged online showing the violent incident.

The man was filmed standing on an Oakland intersection around 3am, holding the weapon and yelling at a nearby motorist to "shoot" at him.

"All you can do is throw sh*t at me, why don’t you shoot?" he can be heard yelling, before a red car reverses into him twice, knocking him to the ground.

Another white car then hits the man and carries him several metres before he falls to the ground.

He quickly gets up and takes himself to the sidewalk – narrowly missing another knockdown when the red car lunges at him again.

Police arrived at the scene a short time later, and said the man had been arrested. It is unclear what medical condition he is in.
