London bus left stuck after making ‘Austin Powers’ style three-point turn

A double-decker bus has brought traffic to a standstill after it became wedged between the walls of a London street while attempting a three-point turn.

Video filmed by bystanders and posted online shows a group of people – identified by one witness as former passengers – banding together to try to push the Transport for London bus in the right direction.

One bystander at one point can be heard comparing the driver’s failed turn to a scene from 90’s action-comedy a scene from 90’s action-comedy : International Man of Mystery, during which the eponymous playboy becomes similarly trapped trying to perform a three-point turn in a corridor with a golf cart.

Witness Adrian Brailsford told the Evening Standard that despite the inconvenience caused by the their situation, passengers “didn’t seem to mind rolling up their sleeves and lending a helping hand”.

“People seemed quite amused by it all. Some were stopping and taking photos,” he said.

Mr Brailsford added he remained at the scene for a total of 10 to 15 minutes and is uncertain as to the busses’ fate.

Transport for London is yet to issue a statement regarding the mishap.
