Llama drama: Low-speed animal pursuit captivates America

A pair of jaywalking llamas have caused a ruckus in the US state of Arizona.

The partners in crime – one white, one black - frolicked through a neighbourhood in Phoenix today after making an apparent jailbreak.

Police managed to capture one of the creatures before local cowboys put an end to the fun, lassoing the second.

The Bonnie and Clyde affair was livestreamed by local news stations, with viewers taking to Twitter to cheer for the quick-footed couple.

It remains unclear from where the llamas had escaped.
