A crew of Kuwaiti soldiers have become a military laughing stock after flipping their tank while practicing in Russia.

The team were training near Moscow last Tuesday ahead of the 2015 Tank Biathlon, with the driver accelerating slightly too hard before a sharp turn.

As the driver attempts to drift the tank sideways he instead sends it flying into the air, before rolling it onto its side.

According to Russian military blogger Alexey Khlopotov, the tank suffered almost no damage and the Kuwaiti crew are all alive and well, except for some bruising - physically and no doubt also to their egos.

The International Tank Biathlon Championship started on Monday August 3 and runs for two weeks at the Alabino firing range, near Moscow.

Teams from 18 countries will be competing using Russian-built T-72 tanks, except for the Chinese team which brought them own.

The Kuwaiti team will want to lift their game as at the time of publication Russia are in the lead, followed by Serbia and Tajikistan.
