Knife-wielding Santa robs KFC restaurant

Police are on the hunt for a knife-wielding 'Santa' who robbed a KFC restaurant in the English town of Alfreton last week.

The armed 'Grinch' was filmed on a surveillance camera climbing through the drive-through window of the fast food outlet before threatening staff with a knife and demanding cash.

The man was dressed as Santa, sans beard, and his face was covered in tights, the Derby Telegraph reports.

"This is quite a nasty case and has been quite traumatic for those involved," a police spokesman said.

It has not been revealed how much cash was stolen.

Alfreton police have released a description of the man and appealed for information.
