Kathmandu drone footage shows extent of damage

Incredible images of Nepal's fallen monuments, flattened houses and cracked roads have emerged in drone footage over Kathmandu.

The aerial shots reveal the full destruction of Saturday's devastating tremors, BBC News reports.

The video was posted on Facebook by Kishor Rana, along with a message reading: "These are desperate times but we must all unite together in times like these."

"We not only lost many lives and homes but we lost many pieces of our cultural heritage, our history," he added.

Rana's video also shows one of the new camps for those too scared or unable to return home.

Nepal's death toll now tops 4000 people and people in Kathmandu are short of shelter, fuel, food, medicine and power.
