Julie Bishop blames Russia for MH17 investigation delay

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has criticised Russia for failing to use its influence earlier to expedite the investigation into the downing of flight MH17.

Ms Bishop told TODAY access to the site and the return of the plane’s black boxes could have happened sooner, had Russia intervened when the tragedy occurred.

Her comments come after Moscow announced its support for her United Nations Security Council resolution demanding immediate access to the crash site.
