Italian rescuers save dog buried alive in powerful quake

A tiny paw sticking out of rubble was spotted by Italian rescue workers, who rushed to save the dog buried underneath the dirt.

Thousands of buildings and structures were immediately reduced to rubble when a 6.6 magnitude earthquake ripped through parts of Italy on Sunday.

Rescue workers were examining one of the worst hit sites in the town of Norcia on Monday when they spotted a moving black paw poking through the debris.

The group carefully began removing the rubble, eventually exposing the dog’s dusty face.

Officials eventually pulled the animal from the earth and brought it bucket of water.

The dog appeared uninjured despite spending more than a day buried alive.
