Italian driver engages in incredibly aggressive hatchback chase

A black Toyota Yaris and white Honda Jazz have been filmed engaging in a high comedy, low octane road rage battle on the streets of Italy.

The two hatchbacks are seen speeding around corners and through a one-way street in Brescia, at the foot of the Italian Alps.

The Honda driver - who had two young children, aged two and four, in the car at the time - alerted police to what was happening and continued performing laps of Brescia's central square until the cops could arrive.

Unfortunately, police did not arrive in time and the chase concludes when the Toyota driver rams into the side of the Honda as it turns a corner.

It is believed the feud kicked off after an argument between the two drivers, according to Italian national public broadcaster Rai.

The Toyota Yaris driver, 42, was later arrested by police at the scene. He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and hashish.

The Honda driver is being treated in hospital with a sprain to his neck. His children are believed to also be recovering in hospital, alongside their father.
