ISIL terrorists are mainly fans of beheadings and explosives, but one jihadi appears to also enjoy Aussie hardcore punk.

An ISIL fighter has reportedly been captured in Syria wearing the shirt of Melbourne band Deez Nuts.

The long-haired jihadist was recently caught by the Free Syrian Army, Conflict News reports, along with another scruffy, roughed-up fighter.

His name and nationality are not yet publicly known.

Ninemsn has contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs for comment on whether they believe the man is a known Australian terrorist.

Deez Nuts' alcohol and party-centred hip hop-infused hardcore punk could not be further at odds with Islamic State ideology, especially as the terrorist group hates music and considers it "the alcohol of the soul".

A fan has posted the photo to Deez Nuts' Facebook page, but the band is yet to respond.

Ninemsn has contacted their management for comment.

Deez Nuts was formed in Melbourne in 2007 and is fronted by I Killed The Prom Queen drummer JJ Peters.

It's most recent album Word is Bond was released last year.
