ISIL suicide van penetrates Iraqi Special Forces post

Fighters with the Iraqi Special Forces have avoided certain death after surviving an attack from a speeding ISIL suicide van.

In vision filmed from inside one of the Iraqi forces’ Humvees, three army tanks can be seen stopped along a road in Fallujah with the sound of gunfire echoing around them.

As the gun battle intensifies, the voices of soldiers can he heard over the radio before an unmarked vehicle hurtles towards them.

Moments later a sudden blast of fiery orange fills the sky, sending pieces of the shredded ISIL van skyward and the camera’s lens to black.

“Despite the intense situation the soldiers managed to escape the explosion of the SVBIED unharmed,” WarLeaks said in a YouTube post accompanied with the video.

Since the video was posted on July 8 it has been viewed almost 40,000 times.

Fallujah was the first Iraqi city to be captured by ISIL in January 2014.

The estimated population has plummeted from about 320,000 in 2010 to as low as 50,000.
