Iran reportedly test-fires short-range missile days after Trump’s warning

Iran has reportedly test-fired a short-range missile from a launch pad, days after the Trump administration warned against the practice.

The missile was fired from the Semnan pad, the same place a previous test was conducted last month, Fox News reported citing a US official.

It follows the testing of another ballistic missile in the capital of Tehran on Sunday, which prompted the US to introduce new restrictions and economic sanctions.

Fox said the latest missile impacted about 55km away.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday night tweeted that Iran was “#1 in terror”.

Mr Trump has repeatedly criticised the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran, the US and five other world powers, in which Tehran agreed to curb its uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions.

His administration said Iran was "on notice" over the missile test, and imposed new sanctions on more than two dozen Iranian companies and individuals.
