Hungry barracuda ruins fisherman's catch

You could be forgiven for thinking that once you've got a fish on the hook and within sight of the boat, it's all but yours. But it ain't necessarily so, as these chaps angling of the Seychelles Islands discovered.

Fishing tour company AOS posted the video two weeks ago, which shows fishermen hook a monster trevally and reel it towards the boat.

They're about to slip the net under the 75cm whopper when it's grabbed from below by a crafty, hungry barracuda.

The rod bends as the predator attempts to drag the trevally away, then the water churns and turns red.

Though they're eventually able to land their catch, the barra has taken an enormous chunk out of the fish with a single bite.
