Mitchell Johnson six shatters commentary box in Harare

"Beautifully struck!" intoned cricket commentator Neil Manthorp, as Australian batsman Mitchell Johnson thumped a fast-pace delivery from Zimbabwe in Harare.

A split second later Manthorp and his colleague Pommie Mbangwa were ducking for cover as the ball sailed through the air, cleared the boundary rope with ease and smashed into the commentary box window.

"There's glass all over the place," a rattled Manthorp told viewers as Mbangwa brushed shards from his shirt. "Oh my word!"

Johnson hit his six off fast bowler Tinashe Panyangara at the tail end of Australia's 6-350 innings against Zimbabwe in today's one-day international.

"Braaied chicken and glass shards for lunch... Cheers Mitch J. :)," tweeted Manthorp later.

Australia is in Zimbabwe for the triangular ODI series with the hosts and South Africa.
