Gaza truce hopes collapse in minutes

It was hoped the Gaza ceasefire would last 72 hours, but it collapsed in barely five minutes.
The catalyst for renewed hostilities was the capture of 23-year-old Israeli Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, who was caught as he tried to clear a tunnel.
His captors may hope to use Goldin as a bargaining chip, but Israel takes the capture of its soldiers very seriously and unleashed a new wave of shelling.

The soldier's father, Simcha Goldin, said he was certain the Israeli army would not stop until it had rescued his son.
