Hoon driver filmed pushing hot rod too far

A Canadian hoon's attention-seeking antics took a turn for the worse with the revhead literally thrashing his high-powered muscle car until the wheels fell off.

A video recently posted online of the May 11 incident starts with two cars making a left turn at the lights on a busy road in Stony Plain, Alberta.

The dashcam video shows the car pulling away at a decent clip when a muscle car in the lane next to it roars past at speed.

The powerful vehicle screams past but things soon go pear-shaped as the chassis begins to bounce on its hydraulic suspension system.

The muscle car driver slams the brakes to avoid ploughing into the vehicles in front but can do nothing as the hot rod bounces higher and higher, causing the rear axle to fall off with both shiny wheels still attached.

Passengers in the trailing car erupt in laughter as countless hours of restoration work are undone in seconds.
