Homeless man who pushed cars stuck in snowstorm gets help himself

A homeless man is enjoying an outpouring of support after his good deeds were caught on camera.

Shelby Hudgens was filmed pushing cars up a slippery, snow-covered street in Colorado Springs, in the US state of Colorado, last weekend.

"I wouldn't want to just be stuck there, spinning my tires," Hudgens told KOAA-TV.

The TV news station aired video of his heroics and the help started pouring in.

Hudgens, who said he has been living in his car with his dog since his house was destroyed by fire, has been put up in a hotel, offered a job and someone has even started a GoFundMe account in his name that has reached US$5625 (AUD$7210) in three days.

"Hopefully I'll be able to get a job just as quickly and everything will just keep snowballing and getting better," he said.
