‘Bear, please stop that’: Hiker forced to swim to safety after black bear eats kayak

An Alaskan kayaker was forced to swim home after stumbling onto a hungry black bear that devoured her kayak.

The woman encountered the bear outside a US Forest Service cabin while hiking and managed to capture the encounter on video.

“Bear, please stop that… It’s not even food it doesn’t even taste good!” she can be heard pleading in the video.

Oblivious to her pleas, the bear continues to gnaw away.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube on September 29 by YouTube user Mary Maley, has already attracted almost 15,000 views.

The woman was forced to swim back to town after her close encounter.
