An Australian tourist who wanted to film a helicopter landing at a Fiji resort has instead captured the horrifying moment it spun out and crashed towards nearby holidaymakers.

An elderly Australian couple, a New Zealand family and a pilot were on board when the helicopter crashed at Treasure Island, stuff.co.nz reported.

Remarkably, all seven of them escaped without injuries.

Footage taken by Bob Carroll shows the helicopter slowly moving towards the ground, before it appears to be caught by a gust of wind and flips towards nearby holidaymakers.

The camera quickly moves to focus on the ground, and a child can be seen running away from the scene.

The crash happened quickly and the guests were taken from the helicopter within five minutes, Treasure Island general manager Robert Wade told stuff.co.nz.
