A Central American reporter's moral judgement has been scrutinised after she tried to interview a crash victim as he lay dying on the side of the road.

The reporter for El Salvador's TVO Noticias raced over to the man, who appeared to just been hit by a truck, as he laid in a ditch, barely conscious.

Rather than render help to the victim, the female reporter ignored his cries of pain and instead shoved her microphone in his face.

The reporter bombarded the critically injured man with a series of questions, including asking him if he would like to be taken to hospital.

As the man struggled to respond the reporter quickly moved on to her next question, asking the man where he was going when he was hit by the truck.

"The hospital," the man responds.

The camera pans around to show the shattered windshield of a truck that is thought have hit the man while he was walking down the side of the road.

It is believed the man died from his injuries shortly after the forced interview.
