An angry driver in Malaysia has taken matters into his own hands after being blocked in by a double parker by smashing in the car window and forcibly moving it.

The incident, said to have happened in the eastern Malaysian city of Kota Kinabalu in late January, shows the blocked in driver unable to drive out of where he parked thanks to the selfish driver, who is nowhere to be seen.

Having reportedly waited for 20 minutes and with other drivers gathering around, the man produces a hammer from his car and smashes in the window, setting off the car alarm.

He then gets behind the wheel and releases the handbrake while a friend pushes, freeing up the space and allowing him to drive out.

The footage then cuts to the double parker and her daughter returning to the car, stunned to find it vandalised and parked metres away from where they left it.

The man filming from a nearby building can be heard laughing at the incident off-camera.

It's unknown whether the hammer-wielding man faced any charges.
